The Ekuona Abusua of legendary Ghanaian highlife musician Daddy Lumba has removed its family head, popularly known as Abusuapanin 2Pac, from his position.
In a letter dated March 11, 2026, the family announced that Victor Kofi Owusu, also known as Kofi Owusu, had been relinquished of his duties as the Head of the Family (Abusuapanyin) of the Ekuona Abusua with immediate effect.
According to the letter, the decision was taken by the family and elders, and he will now remain only a regular member of the family, no longer holding the leadership role.
Although the family has not publicly disclosed the reasons behind the decision, sources indicate that the removal may be linked to internal disagreements within the family.
Meanwhile, pictures and videos circulating on social media show some family members holding placards, with some describing the family head as a disgrace to the family.
The development comes amid heightened public attention surrounding issues related to the family of Daddy Lumba, one of Ghana’s most celebrated highlife icons. The recent shake-up within the Ekuona Abusua leadership has therefore drawn significant public interest as the family navigates internal matters.
