Traditional leaders of the Ga-Adangbe community have issued a strong warning to Ghanaian media personality Afia Schwarzenegger following her recent comments defending the alleged burial of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba on Ga land.
Speaking to the media on March 17, 2026, a representative of the traditional leadership expressed displeasure over what they described as insulting remarks directed at the Ga-Adangbe people.
“I don’t know who she is, but she has given out words of insult to the Ga-Adangbe people. When we finish with this matter, we will look for where this lady resides, and we will have very good words to give to her,” the representative stated.
The leadership also disclosed that the controversy surrounding the alleged burial has disrupted planned traditional activities in Nungua, forcing a postponement.
“We want to inform the press, media, and the public that because of these ongoing rumours, we have postponed what we intended to do today so we can address the allegations concerning Nungua and the Ga-Adangbe people,” he explained.
According to the group, their immediate priority is to investigate and address the claims before announcing a new date for their intended actions.
They further stressed that if it is confirmed that Daddy Lumba was buried on Ga land without proper authorisation, the matter will be treated with utmost seriousness.
“After addressing the issue, we will communicate a new date for the public to witness what actions will be taken regarding the alleged illegal burial of Daddy Lumba on the soil of Nungua.
“It is not permissible, and the body must be exhumed and taken to the appropriate place,” the representative added.
