Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur has pushed back against the growing culture of fan-driven comparisons between artistes, particularly those pitting him against fellow rapper Medikal.
During a Q&A session on his X page on February 20, 2026, Kwesi Arthur responded to a fan who asked about the frequent comparisons between him and Medikal in terms of rap ability and overall impact.
Rather than entertain the debate, Kwesi Arthur showered praise on the “Omo Ada” hitmaker, describing him as a genius. He expressed frustration over the constant comparisons, stating that such narratives are unnecessary.
“Medikal is a genius. I get mad when I see people do that. I think it’s stupid. It’s 2026. We can support our favourite artistes without the foolery,” he wrote.
The Tema-based rapper emphasised that fans can champion their preferred artistes without turning it into a rivalry.
Interestingly, Medikal has previously addressed the issue. In April 2025, he cautioned social media users against comparing him to other rappers, including Kwesi Arthur, describing such comparisons as disrespectful to his craft and achievements.
“Never ever compare me to any artiste, not Kwesi Arthur or anyone. Don’t even dare, are you guys fukn mad?” Medikal posted on X at the time.
He further asserted his dominance in the rap scene, declaring in pidgin that no rapper in Ghana, across Africa, or internationally matches his talent, impact, or work ethic.
