Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has dismissed reports suggesting she unfollowed her husband, Olakunle Churchill, on Instagram, insisting their marriage remains intact.
In a video posted online, addressing the speculation, the actress said she had received numerous calls questioning why she allegedly unfollowed her husband on the social media platform. She, however, clarified that she never did so and has no intention of doing it.
“I got a lot of calls today from people asking why I unfollowed my husband on Instagram. I never unfollowed him and will never. When I go to his page, it still shows I am following him. I don’t know what technical issue it is or whether someone is playing games somewhere. I have no reason to unfollow him. I am not that petty,” she said.
Rosy Meurer also criticised those spreading the rumours, noting that the claims surfaced on the same day as Churchill’s son’s birthday. She added that her husband is currently in Lagos spending time with his son and appealed to the public to allow him to do so peacefully.
“My husband and I are cool. He is presently in Lagos with his son. Please let my husband spend time with his son in peace,” she stated.
The actress further addressed longstanding allegations that she was previously friends with Churchill’s ex-wife and was responsible for their separation. She firmly denied the claims, stating she had never met or had any personal relationship with his former partner.
“I was never my husband’s ex’s friend. I have never met or seen her. We don’t have each other’s number. All the news that I was her best friend and snatched her husband are lies,” she said.
Meurer explained that during Churchill’s previous marriage, he was only a supportive figure in her life and career, describing him as someone who assisted her and her siblings without any romantic involvement at the time.
She also emphasised her commitment to Churchill’s children, stating that she cares for them and respects his role as a father.
Reaffirming her position, Meurer declared, “Anyone that has proof that I snatched him should bring it out. I am still Mrs Churchill.”
