Thigh injury keeps Mohammed Kudus out of Anfield trip

Tottenham Hotspur’s injury crisis has deepened ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool, as playmaker Mohammed Kudus remains sidelined with a long-term thigh problem.

The 25-year-old Ghana international is among 13 first-team players currently unavailable for selection, leaving interim head coach Igor Tudor with a severely depleted squad for the trip to face the reigning champions.

Kudus, who has been a creative linchpin for Spurs since his summer move from West Ham, has not featured since sustaining the injury in early January.

Club officials have confirmed that the midfielder is expected to remain out beyond the upcoming international break.

With his side languishing in 16th place and still searching for his first win since taking charge, Tudor delivered a blunt ultimatum to his remaining fit players.

“You can cry or you can fight,” Tudor told his squad during a pre-match briefing.
The selection headache facing the Croatian coach is unprecedented.

Alongside the absence of Kudus, a combination of suspensions and a crowded treatment room means Spurs will travel to Merseyside with a “threadbare” contingent to face a sixth-placed Liverpool side eager to exploit the visitors’ fragility.

The news also serves as a significant blow to the Black Stars. Kudus is now a major doubt for Ghana’s high-profile international friendlies against Austria on 27 March and Germany on 30 March.

With the FIFA World Cup on the horizon, the Ghanaian medical team is expected to monitor the midfielder’s recovery closely.

In his debut season in North London, Kudus has made 26 appearances across all competitions, contributing three goals and six assists to the Tottenham cause.

While Liverpool have had their own inconsistencies this season, Anfield remains a daunting prospect for a side missing over a dozen senior professionals.

For Tudor, the challenge is not just tactical but a test of character for a Tottenham side looking to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
