The family of Prophet Elisha Osei Kofi has firmly debunked circulating rumours that the late preacher is still alive, describing the claims as false and defamatory.
In an official statement released on February 21, 2026, relatives confirmed that the founder and General Overseer of Grace Family Church International passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The announcement follows days of intense online speculation after initial reports of his passing emerged. The news was first shared by blogger Aba the Great and later corroborated by family friends.
However, controversy deepened when some bloggers and commentators challenged the reports.
YouTuber Ohenea Media published interviews with individuals claiming the preacher was in a coma and would eventually “return,” fueling widespread debate on social media.
The family has rejected these narratives, urging the public to desist from spreading unverified information and inflammatory comments.
“With hearts filled with sorrow but anchored in the hope of resurrection, we announce the passing of Prince Elisha Kofi Osei… He departed this life after a cardiac arrest,” the statement said.
They further warned that anyone found circulating falsehoods or defamatory content about the circumstances of his death would face legal consequences.
The statement appears aimed at ending speculation and restoring clarity following days of online confusion surrounding the preacher’s passing.
