Ghanaian actress Charly Durban, popularly known as Charly D, has dismissed ongoing rumours suggesting a romantic relationship between herself and actor Kwaku Manu.
The two Kumawood stars have been the subject of public speculation for months, largely due to their close bond and frequent appearances together both on and off screen. The rumours intensified after several videos surfaced showing them portraying intimate roles in movies.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM’s Ekwansodwoodwo with Nana Romeo, Charly D clarified the nature of their relationship.
According to her, their connection dates back several years, long before the public began linking them romantically. She explained that their friendship was built through their work in the Kumawood movie industry.
Charly D emphasized that her closeness with Kwaku Manu is rooted in deep appreciation for his role in her career growth, as well as his caring and sociable nature.
“If we talk about those who helped me shoot to fame, I would rate Kwaku Manu as number one. If not for our movies together, I am not sure many Ghanaians would know me. I respect him so much for that,” she stated.
She further revealed that their bond has remained strong over the years, with Kwaku Manu consistently checking in on her and maintaining their friendship. She also noted that the actor regularly supports her business by ordering food from her restaurant for his film crew during productions.
