Security operatives have rescued ten persons believed to have been kidnapped and forced into cyber fraud operations following an intelligence-led raid at Devtracco Estate in Tema Community 25.
The operation, carried out on February 2, 2026, involved a team from the Special Operations Unit working in collaboration with personnel from the Okpoi-Gono District Police Headquarters.
The team was led by the District Crime Officer, ASP Grace Owusua Gyan, acting on directives from the Inspector-General of Police.
According to a situational report from the district command, two male suspects identified as Robinson Endurance and Derrick Glory were arrested during the operation.
The arrests followed actionable intelligence indicating that several victims were being illegally detained and exploited to carry out organised cyber fraud activities.
The primary objective of the mission was to rescue the kidnapped victims, apprehend those responsible, and dismantle the cyber fraud operation, while ensuring the safety of both victims and operatives.
Upon arriving at the location within Devtracco Estate, police operatives apprehended the suspects without resistance. A search of the premises led to the discovery and rescue of multiple victims, all of whom were secured safely.
During the operation, police retrieved several items believed to have been used in the cybercrime activities.
These included 19 laptops, 20 mobile phones, and two Wi-Fi routers, which have since been seized as exhibits for further investigation.
Police sources say investigations are ongoing to identify any additional suspects and determine the full extent of the criminal network.
The rescued victims are currently receiving support as authorities continue investigations and prepare for the possible prosecution of the suspects.
Meanwhile, police have urged the public to provide credible information to assist security agencies in combating kidnapping and cybercrime activities across the country.
