Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has responded to criticism over what many describe as inconsistent statements regarding the collapsed marriage between Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill.
Her reaction comes hours after she denied ever knowing, meeting, or having any personal relationship with Dikeh while the actress was still married to Churchill.
DAILY POST reports that Dikeh and Churchill divorced in 2017 amid allegations of an extramarital affair between Churchill and Meurer, who was at the time alleged to be Dikeh’s close friend.
In an earlier video circulated years ago, Meurer had described herself as a “family friend” to the former couple.
“He (Churchill) and his wife remain family to me. We once hung out together before,” Meurer had said in the video.
However, four years after the divorce, Meurer married Churchill, a development that sparked widespread controversy on social media, with critics accusing her of snatching her best friend’s husband.
Following renewed backlash over her recent denial of any relationship with Dikeh, Meurer addressed the issue in a lengthy Instagram post. She attributed her previous remarks to pressure from her management team at the time.
According to her, she was “forced to lie” due to external pressure.
“You want me to hang on to the nonsense old video I made in fear due to the fact that I was so young and innocent,” she wrote.
“I was dragged into violence by force. With all the pressure then, PR team will make you say many things even if you don’t feel it is right.
“Right now whatever I say is THE REAL TRUTH. I am now older and wiser. No PR team can force me to say what they believed is better than my truth. If you like, bring videos of 1000 years ago. It does not change my reality.”
Her latest comments have continued to generate mixed reactions online, as the controversy surrounding the former marriage resurfaces.
