World Cup 2026: GHANSU launches ‘#GhanaIsInTheHouse’ to roar for Black Stars

Ghana’s premier supporters’ union has issued a rallying cry to the nation, unveiling an ambitious campaign to back the Black Stars at the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With less than 90 days until kick-off in North America, the Ghana National Supporters Union (GHANSU) launched its ‘#GhanaIsInTheHouse’ initiative in Accra.

The project aims to galvanise millions of fans across the country and the global diaspora as the team prepares for the world stage.

GHANSU confirmed it intends to send a contingent of 400 dedicated supporters to the host nations of the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

This group will lead the vocal and visual displays in the stands, ensuring the Black Stars feel the heat of Ghanaian passion despite playing thousands of miles from home.

Speaking at the launch, GHANSU President Abraham Boakye struck a defiant and ready tone, stating that the union is going to the World Cup “come rain or shine”.

He noted that with the tournament so close, now is the time to declare their intention and readiness to support the national team.

The campaign received a high-profile endorsement from Ambassador Dr Erieka Bennett, Convening Founder and Head of Mission of the African Union African Diaspora Forum.

Officially launching the initiative, Dr Bennett reminded the fans that they are the team’s “number two” an essential backbone for success.

She told the gathered union members that they are ambassadors for the country, tasked with showing the world the “Ghana spirit, professionalism, and passion” that defines the nation.

As the countdown to the tournament narrows, the momentum is set to increase rapidly. On March 17, GHANSU will officially announce its corporate sponsors and unveil its international partners during a dedicated ceremony.

Following this, the eyes of the world will turn to North America in June 2026, where the FIFA World Cup kicks off across 16 host cities.

The #GhanaIsInTheHouse campaign represents more than just a travel plan; it is a nationwide drive to ensure the Black Stars are inspired by a sea of red, gold, and green as they look to make history on the global stage once again.
