Ghanaian musician Papa Shee has reacted to a court decision halting the planned “Celebration of Life” event for highlife legend Daddy Lumba, suggesting that attention be redirected to the late musician’s wife, Akosua Serwaa Fosuh.
Speaking at the premises of the Accra High Court on March 25, 2026, Papa Shee indicated that organizers would not allow preparations for the event to go to waste despite the suspension.
“Since the programme has been stopped, we will celebrate Sister Akosua Serwaa Fosuh instead,” he stated. “We cannot let everything go to waste. We need to celebrate the living, not the dead.”
He further emphasized his admiration, adding, “Make Serwaa the one to be celebrated. The name Serwaa is love.”
The court earlier ordered a halt to the event, with the case adjourned to April 23, 2026, pending further proceedings.
