Ken Agyapong reacts to Burkina Faso attack, calls for stronger regional security

The former Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong, has expressed deep sorrow over the reported attack in Burkina Faso that claimed the lives of innocent people, including some Ghanaians.

In a statement posted on his X page, he extended his condolences to the bereaved families, describing the incident as a senseless act of violence that no family should have to endure.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence. No family should have to endure such pain, and as a nation we share in your grief.”

Agyapong urged the Government of Ghana to collaborate closely with the Burkinabè authorities and regional partners to ensure the safety of Ghanaians living and working beyond the country’s borders.

He further emphasised that terrorism and extremism continue to pose serious threats to peace within the sub-region.

He called for strengthened regional cooperation, enhanced intelligence sharing, and decisive security interventions to safeguard lives.

He concluded by praying for the souls of the departed and affirming that Ghana stands in solidarity with the affected families.

“May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace. Ghana mourns with you.”
